I sat down Saturday morning and sent this message to my family this weekend. I wanted to speak to up and coming younger generation within our family. And I also wanted to thank my parents for teaching me and supporting me in striving to run a first class Internet based company. After their amazing feedback, I decided to republish what i wrote to them here.

What does this have to do with Larym Design? Well as our past and current clients know, we have incredible work ethic. Our clients know we hail from the Silicon Valley, the home of Apple Computers, co-founded by Steve Jobs. But perhaps what they don't know is what drives our commitment to success. Perhaps, what anyone that does business with Larym Design needs to know is that we are as emotionally tied to this digital era, as we are tied financially. That what we do day in and out is our true passion. And because of that, whether your you are big or small, you will always get our very best.

Whether you agree or disagree with my words, I hope they move you forward.

The loss of Steve Jobs this week hit me harder than I expected. While I had the fortune to meet him several times, he was not a friend. I laughed at the name of his company and logo in 1981. I turned down an interview on campus in 1984 (I already accepted a job with Hewlett Packard, just an exit or two away), and I never wanted to use any of his products until the iPhone. So why is it that his passing has affected me so much?

Maybe because his passing represents the end of an era that I so happily joined in the early 80's. I am glad to say that I am here now…and I was able to personally meet Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Jim Clark (SGI and Netscape) , as well as the founders of HP – Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard, and many others that have changed my world..our world. They dreamed of things that no one supported when they developed their ideas. But they were courageous and persistent enough to see their dreams become reality. And now the world is dramatically different and definitely better because of them. They were not the “Einsteins” that developed theory. They were the ones that took it a step further, and even though their dreams and visions went against current thinking, they made it the new truth. They made our truth. They spread and imbedded their truth to the world. They created the beginning of the new digital era. We are forever changed.

Surely there are tons of people that I have met and not mentioned above, or those I have not had the honor of meeting, that deserve the same credit. I am sure they are just as powerful and successful. Yet I mention the names above, along with Steve Jobs because as creators of innovative technology, they gave me the professional legs that I have stood on from college and continue to stand on today, as an entrepreneur. I built a career and a life-style based on selling, implementing, supporting, and managing, what they created. And for that I am extremely thankful. Who knew this child of Alex and Mary Peterson would grow up to be a part of all of this? I truly love that I am. And thanks to Mom and Dad for raising a nerd. I love you.

		So here is the message:

Life is short. Always strive to do the best you can do with what you have. Live your life the best you can live it every day. Find what you love to do and be the best you can be doing just that. No matter what. Find happiness every day. And most importantly, let those closest to you know and feel your happiness. And that will become your legacy. I want that to be my legacy. Let that be yours also. In reflecting on Steve Jobs again, he lived his life that way and left that very legacy for all of us to remember. But more importantly he gave us an example and words to read. Videos to watch. And surely products that will forever change so many industries. He was never afraid to innovate.

As a reading, I have included a few links below for you to read, reflect and think about. I am sure you will find lots on Youtube if that is your preference.

Email mailing lists can be a hugely valuable business tool. But if you don't use them the right way, your subscribers can quickly become "blind" to your emails, ignoring them when they see them in their inboxes or, worse, unsubscribing forever. If you want to keep your subscribers interested then you need to constantly test the way you do things. Here are a few of the most important elements you'll want to test. 1) When To Send Your Emails Believe it or not, it makes a huge difference to your results depending on the time of day you choose to contact your email mailing lists. You may have heard experienced marketers saying things like "never email on weekends", "Tuesdays see best results" or "people don't respond on Mondays". While it's useful to read their experiences, every single list is different. For example, if your list is a hobby niche targeted towards working parents then you may find they open their emails more in the evenings and weekends. If you're targeting work-at-home internet marketers, however, then weekday daytime emails will work best. 2) How Often To Email There's huge debate when it comes to how often you should email your lists. However, one thing is for certain, make sure you do email them! It sounds simple, but so many people are scared of overwhelming and annoying their email subscribers that they fail to email them at all! Again, this is another thing you'll want to test. Make sure you check in at least once a week to keep your name on your subscribers' radars – other than that it's up to you how often you email. But don't take unsubscribes to heart. It's not the end of the world if someone unsubscribes: it's unlikely they would have stayed a subscriber for much longer anyway. 3) What To Email Another thing marketers are afraid of is scaring away their customers with too many promotions. It's true that you need to be careful about what you are promoting, but what constitutes "too many promotions" is different for all email mailing lists. For example, your customers may have opted into a "special offers" newsletter, in which case they're going to expect promotions! The best way to know what they want and respond to – and remember, that's what's important here – is to mix purely informational emails with your promotions. You may find your customers ignore your informational emails, or you may find they ignore the promotions unless you mix them in with something free. You'll never know until you test! How To Test Most email marketing services have a number of features that allow you to test what works best. At the very least, keep track of how many email opens you get, how many people click your links and, if appropriate, how many people buy. When you've tested one way of doing things, test the opposite and record your results until you know what works best for your subscribers. Other testing strategies to try include sending surveys to your subscribers or simply listening to their feedback – but remember that many of them, no matter how much they love your email newsletter, won't bother to respond at all. All email mailing lists are different, which is why testing – as well as learning from successful marketers – is absolutely vital to the growth of your business.

When it comes to building a business we all want to see results as fast as possible. And, while building a list will be a long term effort, you can help improve the speed at which it grows by employing as many of these list building tips and techniques as possible.

1) Use Forms On Your Website: Make sure you place opt in forms in a prominent location, above the fold, on the homepage of your website. Add them to other areas, such as above blog comment areas, to get them noticed even more. Whatever you do, make sure that your subscribers can see a way to sign up on every single page of your website.

2) Provide An Incentive: No matter where you choose to start promoting your list, you?re going to find it difficult to get people to actually hand over their email addresses unless you provide them with an incentive for doing so. All list building tips will start with providing a good incentive, whether that’s an eBook, a coaching session, an eCourse or anything else of value to your visitors.

3) Post In Forums: Most niche forums will allow you a signature where you can place a link back to your site. Include a link back to your newsletter page and make sure to post a number of helpful posts around the forum, several times a day.

4) Place Ads In Forums: Prominent forums in your niche may have a classified ads section where you can post a big incentive for people to sign up to your newsletter. In the internet marketing niche, for example, you can pay $40 for a Warrior Special Offer and expect a number of sign ups. This is perfect for new email lists where you aren’t yet well known.

5) Write Articles: Submit informative, useful articles in your niche to some of the many online article directories. In your author bio section, include a link to the page where interested readers can sign up to your newsletter.

6) Create A Facebook Page: Create a Facebook Page for loyal customers and fans of your business to “like”. At the same time, make sure you include an email opt in form on the welcome page to take advantage of the interest you get.

7) Sign Up Your Buyers: If you use an automated shopping cart system then most will allow you to automatically add customers to a designated customer list. Use this to send them product updates or offers tailored to what they’ve already bought.
Blog: The more people come onto your website, the more times they’ll see your opt in forms and your freebie incentive, and the more likely they will be to sign up to your newsletter! How do you get people to visit your site regularly? Start a blog with the latest updates, tips and insights!

9) Ask Subscribers To “Tell A Friend”: If you’ve got a fantastic freebie, or are sending out very useful information, then your subscribers will want to share it with others. Include a note in each of the emails letting them know that, if they want to share it, they should direct friends to your newsletter sign up page.

10) Participate In Ad Swaps: This means promoting another marketer’s list in exchange for them promoting your list to their own subscribers. This works best if your lists are a similar size, and if you’re very careful about the people you promote to your subscribers (i.e. make sure you trust the other party!)

Remember, none of these list building tips are going to do you any good unless you start employing them TODAY!

Although a broadly targeted mailing list is still a valuable asset for your business, there are a number of advantages to building highly targeted mailing lists based on a number of different variables. But how do you go about doing this?

Create New Lists For New Subjects

It goes without saying that you should have separate email lists for broadly different subjects. A subscriber interested in gardening probably won’t respond when you send them emails about learning French, and vice versa. However, you can also apply this rule to small sub-niches.

For example, you may choose to build one list about growing vegetables on allotments, and one about growing herbs in the kitchen for cooking. Both are within the broad topic of “gardening”, but you’ll find that you can send far more targeted offers to each list, ultimately keeping your subscribers happier and increasing your profits.

Build A Customer List

Your most targeted mailing list – and most valuable – is going to be your past customer list. Build a new email list for each product, or set of products, that they buy from you. That way you know for sure that they’re already interested in a certain type of product, that they are already willing to buy from you, and that they will be much more receptive to the idea of buying again!

Segment Your Lists

If you’ve already begun building an un-targeted list then all hope is not lost! Most mailing list providers have a feature that allows you to segment your lists based on certain data collected about your subscribers. This could be as simple as the date they signed up, or it could be another variable such as the referring website.

Segmenting your lists can help you break down broad lists into smaller, more targeted lists and help you to send out more appropriate offers. You can also split test different types of emails to test the results and break down your lists even further.

The Benefits Of Highly Targeted Lists

If you know that someone signed up for specific information one one topic, you can send them targeted and relevant offers to increase the chances of buying from you again. Although you may believe that un-targeted lists will yield the same results, the truth is that subscribers are far more likely to ignore your emails if they aren’t directly relevant to their interests. Even if you’re sending them related information, unless you’re targeting people who you know are interested then you could be wasting your time.

By using the tips above to build a targeted mailing list you can greatly increase your results from each and every email you send out. It may take a little more work in the beginning, but it will be well worth it when you start seeing the impressive returns.

If you’re considering building an email marketing list then the very first step is to choose your mailing list provider. If you’re not sure where to start, here are 5 points to consider before handing over any cash.

1) Cost

Cost is inevitably a factor, especially if your business is just starting out. However, one thing you want to bear in mind is that, once you grow your list, you’re going to want to hang onto it for a long time. Think long term and choose a provider that you can afford and who will be worth sticking with in future.

Also take a very close look at any free service providers. It’s tempting to sign up for free, but bear in mind that they may have very limited list sizes before they start charging, or they could have strict terms of use regarding what you can and cannot mail out to your subscribers.

2) Extra Charges

Nearly every mailing list provider is going to charge you extra once your list gets to a certain size. Make sure you find out the basic size limits before you sign up, and how much you can expect to pay once you exceed those limits.

3) Tracking Features

Any successful email marketer is going to need tracking tools to help them figure out what their list does and doesn’t like to be sent. Take a look at the tracking features and ensure that your potential mailing list provider, at the very least, shows stats about open rates, click through rates, subscriber growth and unsubscribes.

4) Spam Defense

Unfortunately for legitimate email marketers, spam has become a huge problem all over the internet. You need to find a provider who will protect your subscribers against spam as well as you against complaints of spam!

The big name companies are going to have a number of security measures in place, so if you’ve seen a provider’s name mentioned around a lot then you’re probably safe. But they should also have information on their website about how they keep your subscribers’ details safe.

When it comes to keeping you protected against complaints of spam, look for providers that allow you to use double opt in. This means that, after your subscribers opt in to your email newsletter form, they must click a link in their email to confirm that it really was them who signed up.

5) Ease Of Use

If you’ve never used a mailing list provider before then there’s bound to be a learning curve when figuring out how to get it to do what you need it to. This is where free or low-cost trials come in handy – they let you directly compare and contrast a number of providers to see which one feels right for you, which have the features you need, and which are simply too complicated for what you’re doing.

At the end of the day, choosing a mailing list provider is a personal decision. Take advantage of personal recommendations and reviews, but do your own research to ensure that the provider is right for your individual needs before you sign up.

When it comes to email marketing tips, it isn’t just the ones that help you grow your list that matter. The truth is that your list could have thousands of subscribers, but none of them will make you any money unless they trust your offers and build a relationship with you and your brand. Here are some of the best ways to go about building that all important relationship.

Be Personal

Your subscribers probably didn’t sign up to hear about the ins and outs of your personal life, but that doesn’t mean you can’t personalize your emails a little. Include a few sentences in your email about what you’ve been up to before moving on to your main topic. It helps to remind customers that you’re a real person, and you’ll form a much deeper connection as a result.

Be Open To Replies

This is another way to show your subscribers that you’re a human being, and that you do care what they think. Make sure you include a sentence or two letting them know that they can reply to the email if they have any questions or comments. If they know they can rely on you in this way, they will be far more open to any offers you send their way.

Under Promise And Over Deliver

You hear this phrase a lot when it comes to business, for one simple reason: it works! Always go above and beyond what your customers expect of you. Surprise them out of the blue with free products or valuable information that they can really use, and make sure any offers you do send them are excellent value.

Always Put Them First

There may be times when another marketer approaches you with a tempting deal to promote to your list. Instead of thinking about the $$, consider for a moment whether this promotion would really be the best thing for your list.

Firstly, did they really sign up for these kind of promotions? If so, is the product/ service something you trust, and have tested for yourself? Thirdly, do you trust the marketer you’re pointing them towards? Remember, if your customers aren’t happy with anything you personally promoted to them, they aren’t going to be happy with you either.

Be Yourself

Lastly, remember to always be yourself. Your integrity will show through if you believe in everything you do and say. Don’t try to copy other successful marketers – every business is different, and every person has their own unique strengths. Play to your strengths and let your list see the real you. They will appreciate it!

The only email marketing tips you should ever follow are ones that are going to reinforce that relationship you have with your list. Sometimes you may need to turn down a money making opportunity to keep the relationship in tact, but you’ll eventually come to realize that the strong relationship you have with your list is worth a lot more money in the long term.

Now that you’ve chosen the best Web Design firm to handle your company’s online presence, another important thing to consider is whether or not you are actually reaching your target audience. Yes you could write the most creative headlines, the most enticing promotions in all of Nevada but whenever a potential customer makes a search in one of the leading search engines; your company’s web address does not appear.

In Las Vegas, Website Marketing Services are much in demand. Some firms just handle the creation and uploading of the site but have no control on visibility issues. You have to make sure that the firm also has SEO services. This allows your site to always be present with good high ranks every time a search is made.

There are times when you may have placed in all the good words that could be easily sniffed by search engines but you find your site at the bottom of the list. There are magical ways of putting your site up there in the Top 5 if not Top 1.

The best search engine optimations company is of course available in Las Vegas. Website Marketing Services is a uniquely packaged kind of service that handles most of the techie and difficult matters. All you need to do is search for the directory listing of all web design firms in your area and pick three companies that suits your needs and of course your budget.

Hitting the number one position once is always not enough. When you are setting up an online business in Las Vegas, Website Marketing Services is what you really need. They handle site visibility in terms of online search. There are times that your website address only comes up in some searches that require an in-depth keyword set-up. You definitely would not make it to SEO heaven.

The best way to reach the virtual stars is to allow your website optimization qualities which are required to allow search engines to not just sniff important words but to make your business recalled as top of mind every time a particular search is done. Let’s say you are into the flower business. Chances are if you have a talented web design firm as a partner, just the mere search of your customer on flowers can show the user your website address.

As for any typical business, location is the most key element in reaching its success. By getting in touch with holistic firm in Las Vegas, Website Marketing Services will come up with a way to enable your web content to have a distinct pattern with how sentences and paragraphs are written. The first and the last paragraphs are the best places to fully improve the search engine optimization. Search Engines will easily translate this pattern to potentially higher rankings in a given word search.

If your business only caters to Las Vegas, SEO can actually easily target only the people within that territory. It’s just like having a trade fair everyday.

Want to see sites that we built that are great deals? Click here: Web Sites for Sale | Websites for Sale | Sites for Sale

Buying A Money making Website for Sale Is A Very Effective Entry Strategy

Given the time it takes to get a new website off the ground because of issues like the Google Sandbox and the amount of work and effort it takes to create a site, produce content and build backlinks, the prospect of buying a ready established domain and website is very appealing.

If you have a sound understanding of search engine optimization and the industry you work in online, you should have no problem finding under optimized websites for sale, or perhaps complete websites for sale web e-commerce businesses to buy. By adding content, fixing title tags, linking structure and all the other good search engine marketing practices you can very quickly start reaping rewards.

Sites with quality traffic but no monetization strategy are huge opportunities ready for you to step in, stick some advertisements up, use your AdSense optimization skills and boom, start profiting immediately. Alternatively you might look for sites that augment your existing web enterprises and purchase the targeted traffic to effectively “buy customers”.

Here is a list of the top 7 strategies to consider when buying a new website:

Buy a site that has targeted traffic for a product or service you already produce or sell. You can direct traffic from the new site to your products/services through advertising, email lists or sales pages. This is a great way to establish a customer base very quickly but you have to be confident that the traffic is quality, targeted traffic. Don’t fall into the trap of buying a high traffic site that consumes lots of bandwidth but doesn’t have the type of user you can leverage for revenue, otherwise you might be buying a liability, not an asset.

Buy a site to generate advertising revenue. In this instance you might not change the site other than by working to increase the amount of traffic and improve the performance of advertisements on the site. Sites with lots of good content but are poorly optimized are perfect for this strategy. Once you own the rights to the content you can then further leverage it by repacking and republishing the content in other ways – perhaps information products, article marketing or as free give away enticements to join an email list.

Buy a site specifically to flip it quickly. This is perhaps the most risky venture (day-trading!) because you need to find sites that are clearly underperforming with the potential for a big upside result after you complete your renovation. Ideally you should locate e-commerce sites selling a product that has an established market that is only just starting to take off online AND the current owners are not good at search engine optimization or online marketing and are willing to sell. The theory is that you can quickly implement your changes, tweaking a few percentage point increases in multiple areas, resulting in a good double figure increase in sales in a short period of time. If you can complete your work just before the general marketplace catches up you can make a mint by selling the site at a premium before the Internet becomes saturated and your early mover advantage is eroded or the market slows. The web is one of the fastest industries in terms of competitive action due to the very low barriers to entry. To execute day-trading style website buying and selling requires an entrepreneur with their finger on the pulse of the web. They must be in tune with what’s new and willing to gamble on what’s going to be new tomorrow in order to have success.

Purchase a community driven site. A site with a massive forum filled with a nice target niche audience can be a gold mine to a entrepreneur. Often these sites were built by hobbyist fans, not aimed to profit in any way. Their website might have ballooned in growth to the point where the bandwidth is costing them a lot each month and since they are not skilled in website monetization they will be willing to sell the site at a bargain price. This can be a great strategy to make advertising revenue but be very careful with audience selection. Some forum communities are very difficult to make money from and may end up costing you more in ongoing hosting fees. Ideally choose a community demographic that has established high keyword prices in AdSense/high value to advertisers (electronic gadgets for example), has a good selection of affiliate products you could market or suits some products or services you already sell yourself.

Look for a site operating in a highly popular keyword niche or one you expect will become popular in the near future. Keywords drive search engine traffic and if you can pick the trends before they become trends you may own some valuable property. Consider if you could guess what tomorrow’s hot new trend or product will be and buy the sites with established keyword rich content before they become mainstream topics and overpriced.

Remove the competition or merge with the competition. In this case you buy competing websites or negotiate a merger to combine with them to create one large enterprise. Depending on the industry you operate in this can be a very smart strategy to create market dominance. One of the best examples is website hosting. Often smaller hosts are bought up by larger hosting businesses with the result increased stability and professionalism.

Purchase a site strictly for the domain name. Obviously in this case you don’t care too much about what is already developed in terms of website content, you just want the street address (URL). Imagine a few years ago if you purchased mp3.com or blog.com. In this case the address itself is of significant value regardless of the website, or if you are good at picking trends, you might see the future value in a domain name before the market realizes it.

There are many other options available for how to use a new website acquisition and of course what you do with a new website and what type of website you search for will depend on your skills, the industry you operate in and your cash to spend. Remember to take some time listing a few goals you want your new website to achieve and strategize exactly what you will do with the new website before you buy it.

No matter what your strategy, the web is ripe with opportunities for smart investors and you don’t have to have a wallet the size of Rupert Murdoch’s to start buying and profiting. On the Internet today, you have every opportunity to find money making websites for sale and you may even land on a site like this that has cheap websites for sale at great prices!
